Proposed Dates

Hey,
Hopefully we've got a Yaniv in the family, the kind of man who thinks about other people who don't watch blogs or who are not familiar with RSS feeds. Yaniv introduced me to a nice piece of software allowing our blog to be publicized via a feed and/or also to have the new post sent to you by e-mail. (register here).
As for the dates, according to your massive input, we are now focusing on two options: June 28-29 th or July 5-6 th with a clear preference for the second choice.
So for those who haven't yet, let me know.
Cheers, Laurent
(I m back in Paris, spring time :-), next week: ski !!!

BTW

Thank you all for your warm responses.
As we have to book asap rooms and restaurant (most probably non-
kosher ;-)) for at least one lunch or diner all together as well as
transportation (but no helicopter can be chartered for all of us, stop
dreaming, we have a big clan here!), we have to fix a date soon.
Chet suggested that we decide in the next couple of weeks and NOT
change it later. I'll stick to that. How about you?
Naxhieli had suggested as well end of June i.e 21/22nd or 28/29th.
(Flights might be cheaper at that time too). For most of us, it has to
happen before mid July in any case.
I ll have to know as well how long would you plan to stay in Loguivy?
I think I ll book rooms for a week. You are all more than welcome to
spend there the rest of your life as well, it's a marvelous place.
Can you pls update the profiles of your kids (I mean those under
teens), filling in their age, this will help us to group them and/or
to see how we have to accomodate them (sleeping bags, tents,
doublekingsizebeds and the like).
We are looking for some kind of tours to be organized around Loguivy
(boat rides, hikes, bungee ...). Let us know if you have any wishes.
It's now possible for you to post on the blog: (the drawback is that
you need a google account).
I fly back to Paris tomorrow, 3 flights in a row :-(
Bye

Good hints from Chet

This is parts of a mail Chet sent to me recently (I ll do what he says about sending infos by mail to everybody):

Hi Laurent, or Mr "Internet & Cool Technology",

- I changed my answer to "maybe" until I know the date.

- For examle, it is very likely that I will need to take the New York Bar Exam in July and therefore will be available 5/6 or 12/13 July (but NOT 19/20 or 26/27 July).

- In fact, would it be possible to propose a date as soon as possible, give everyone 2 weeks to comment, and then make it final? However, once the date is agreed, please please please do not change it!!

- I think Rodney is the best person to suggest missing relatives or e-mail addresses. I don't really have more information than what is already on your list.

- In your "hello everybody" e-mail you suggest that you cannot sent e-mail to everyone and that everyone should look at your Blog. I do not understand why this is the case. People will forget to look at your blog. I would suggest, whenever there is new important information (such as a date!), you send an e-mail to everyone on your list.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Chet

When shall we meet?

Whe're ya at?
As I am overlooking the quiet smoke from the mexican volcano over breakfast, I just skyped Naxhieli who is on her way to her first lesson of Spanish politics at University of Barcelona. We talked over this gathering in Loguivy and by the time I had gulped down my huevos a la mexicana, her train had arrived to her destination and she suggested late June for the Loguivy party.
This is a good idea since kids might already be out of school, or could probably easily drop from courses few days ahead, flights might be cheaper as well as accomodation. So how does it sound to you?
Good day

Arthur (Amnon) Silverman

Does anybody have Arthur (Amnon) Silverman e-mail if he uses it?

Hi everybody

After the idea of this family gathering took shape, I've quickly got a bunch of positive answers and this is great since we re all so scattered!!!
So far I ve had no feedback from some who were on the first mailing list (hi Sylvia, I hope you don't snub me because I never went to Hawaii ;-)). Their e-mail addresses might have been wrong or missing. Check on the list (link "Who") and correct me pls. I did not get in touch with some of you who are still living in the stone-age with no e-mail (as Sophie does, but she got a laptop only a year ago) . Why don't you give them a buzz and enlist them on the web site?
In order to fix accomodation and transportation, I also need to have one entry for each family member (kids too !!! okay Yaniv?) even if they have the same e-mail or phone than their parents / spouses (this is valid for Yona too!).
If some of you are reluctant to have your bio displayed on this site (but, hey, you already provided it to Google, MySpace, Facebook, the Feds and SecondLife anyway), let me know, I could protect it with a password, (only Rodney could hack it, he taught me for that matter)
In order to organize better all this craze we need to share informations, so please comment on the posts here or update your data on your profile, confirm your presence, get infos about location, weather, transportation, local currency, food and of course about who's gonna be there with you.
Your questions and their answers will be valuable to all of us.
This web site is under construction (I m currently looking at the Popocatepetl smoking at sunset near Puebla, see pix), but let me know if you want more stuff displayed (availability of oysters in July, will there be cousins of your kid's age, where you'll gonna sleep and more ...)
Looking forward meeting ya'll in Loguivy!!!! Laurent
